Directions

Wises has a good site with maps of everywhere in New Zealand, and driving directions from virtually any point to any other. Try this link to see the vicinity of 43A Aberdeen Road. See also the small map in this brochure.

From the Octagon, take Princes Street south (away from town) until the first traffic light past the Oval. Turn right into Hillside Road. Stay on Hillside Road until you reach a roundabout. Turn left into Forbury Road, continuing to a stop sign. Turn right into Bedford Street.

At the end of Bedford Street, turn right into Ravenswood Road. Take the first (steep, sharp) left into Aberdeen Road. After about 100 m, on the left you will see a striking modern house, coloured mustard yellow and terracotta red. (This is not Aberdeen B&B, but is a good landmark for the next turn which is inconspicuous!) After about 20 more m, at the first lamp post on the left you will see a driveway with six letter boxes. Turn into this driveway. Go straightish for about 60 m then turn left down a steep, concrete drive (there's a little sign pointing to 43A). Then take the next left down an even steeper, concrete driveway. Aberdeen B&B is a white, modern house with a blue-gray roof. Drive right down to a turn-around area in front of the garages, then come back up to the main level of the house, where you will see a deck with french doors. You can park here. The guest entrance is to the right, down a path. Welcome!

From the airport, south, take State Highway 1 north, passing by Mosgiel and Fairfield. After a steep descent into Caversham, turn right at the first traffic light. Follow the road left through Caversham, then turn right into David Street. Go through the roundabout to Forbury Road, continuing to a stop sign. Turn right into Bedford Street, then follow the directions above.

From Christchurch, north, follow State Highway 1 south through Dunedin. Follow the road left into Andersons Bay Road. You will pass through a traffic light, under a railway bridge, then through another traffic light. Get into the right-hand lane, and turn right at the next traffic light into Hillside Road. Stay on Hillside Road until you reach a roundabout. Turn left into Forbury Road, continuing to a stop sign. Turn right into Bedford Street, then follow the directions above.
