Fox Valley wins medals at AAU national championship

Members of the Fox Valley Park District Judo Club won 11 medals, including five gold, in the AAU National Championships at the Wisconsin State Fair on Aug 13, 2006, in Milwaukee.

With 10 members competing in the tournament, the club walked away with five national champions, three silver medals, and three bronze medals. Winners included:

  •        Frank Davison (Chief Instructor), Gold Medal, 175 lbs., Masters Division

  •        Andre Hughes, Gold Medal, 160 lbs. Masters Division

  •        Adreil Villa, Gold Medal 215 lbs. 18-30 Mens Division

  •        Kristina Davison, 14-years-old, Gold Medal 160 lbs. Womens Divison

  •        Ally Serbick, 6-years-old, Gold Medal 5-6 Girls Division and Silver Medal 7-8 Girls Division

  •        Jennie Schnmult, 10-years-old, Silver Medal 9-11 Girls Division

  •        Mike Andre, 14-years-old, Silver Medal Boys Junior Divsion

  •        Tom Andre, Bronze Medal 180 lbs. Mens Division

  •        Kim Reed, Bronze Medal 160 lbs. Womens Divisions

  •        Chris Reed, 12-years-old, Bronze Medal Boys Junior Division

Fox Valley Judo Club was started by Dr. Don Cunningham, fourth dan in Kodokan Judo. Since his relocation to teach at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, the club is now coached by one of his former students, Mr. Frank Davison, second dan in Kodokan Judo.
