RULES OF THE COMPETITION

1. Jujutsu Kata (ENBU)

1. Categories

Competition is done in concurrence of teams, consisting of 2 (TWO) members. There will be only senior concurrence (recommended age of team members 16 and above). Men will be separated from women. Women teams (pairs) and mix pairs will compete together (Note: in mix pairs only woman will play defender - UKE).

2. Course and the outcome of the competition

One team member will perform self-defense against FOUR attacks, done by his assistant. Structure of these four attacks must be following:

1 - one strike (hand strike or a kick)

2 - one hold (on hand, collar, shoulder, hair, etc.)

3 - one embracing (around neck, torso, above hands, under hands...)

4 - one weapon attack (tanto or hanbo)

Each defensive action must contain one (and only one!) throw, with initial block and/or strikes or attacks on kyusho points, and with finishing control (lock, choke, hold or finishing strike).

Team will be limited with 60 seconds to finsh the demonstration of all four attacks/defenses.

After all teams end their performance, coaches of all teams will write down their top-list of three best opponent teams (3 points to the best, 2 points to the second placed, 1 point to third). Coaches will not give points to their team! Point-lists from all coaches will be given to the Supreme Referee to read out them loud, so that all in the audience can hear the votes. The team with highest number of points wins the tournament.

In case of the same number of points scored by two or more teams, additional rounds will be held.

2. Jujutsu Mix Kumite

1. Goals of fight

Fight is divided in 3 rounds, each 1 minute effective time, with breaks in between rounds of 30 seconds. First round is fighting with punches and kicks. Each well performed punch is awarded with one point. The first contestant who makes TWO points, wins the round. After 30 seconds break, competitors fight with throws and takedowns. Any takedown or a throw brings victory to the competitor. After second break, competitors fight on the ground. Each hold (pinning) that lasts 10 seconds marks the end of round. Victory can also be achieved with a choke or armbar. Only standard judo chokes and armbars will be allowed.

After the end of third round, winner of the whole match will be the competitor who won more rounds. If one competitor wins first two rounds, third round will not be done. In case of a draw, competitors will repeat the round which has ended without a winner.

2. Uniforms and equipment

Competitors wear regular budogi (jacket and pants) in any color. All competitors must be barefooted. In the first round competitors must wear following protective equipment:

1) body armor same as in taekwondo

2) standard karate or taekwondo hand gloves

Mouthpieces and shin/instep protectors are also allowed. Other protective equipment must be approved by the Supreme referee. Competitors with longer hair must tie it into a tail. Competitors may wear flexible contact lances on their own responsibility.

3. Fighting area

CR is in the fighting area, and the AR is beside the fighting area, moving around trying to be on the opposite side of CR. Points are given only when CR signalizes them. Timekeeper stops the match on each "Yame" by CR. Penalties will be giving by following criteria:

a) Warning

b) Penalty - SHIDO - victory in the round to the opponent

c) Disqualification - HANSOKU MAKE

6. Course and the outcome of the competition

No jumping strikes, no knees or elbows, no spinning kicks!

Each well performed strike (clean, precise, unblocked, visible and audible) will be awarded with Ipon. After each strike/kick the Central Referee will stop the action. Simultaneously executed strikes will not be scored. Round 1 ends when one fighter collects TWO Ipons, or after 1 minute effective time. Round can end without a winner, in case of no points within 1 minute.

After the end of the 1st round, competitors remove their protective equipment during the break and start the second round same as in judo, with only one differance: any takedown or throwing ends the round. Round can end without a winner too.

After the end of round 2, new break of 30 seconds follows. At the beginning of round 3, competitor kneel down on the center of fighting area and start groundfight. Ippon is awarded for a hold that lasts 10 seconds, or any standard judo choke or armbar. Any Ipon will be the end of this round. The CR will stay in the fighting area and announce holds ("Osae komi"), or broken hold ("Toketa"). Once the hold is established, CR starts with loud counting to 10. Warnings will be given without stopping the fight. Standard judo rules are applied, with no Toketa upon leg entanglement. Also, mounted position on the opponent who is faced down (in "turtle" position) is considered osae komi.

6. End of match
