EUROPEAN BUDO GAMES
Croatia 2007
On weekend 25th to 26th of August 2007 European Budo Games were held in Split, CROATIA. This event was organized by the EUROPEAN BUDO COUNCIL, an amateur martial arts organization founded by representatives of several European countries, including Serbia (KIAI founder Dr. Ivica Zdravkovic), Croatia (Hrvoje Znaor) Great Britain (Former KIAI president Nick Sleep), Bosnia (Ragib Karamehmedovic), Italy (Giancarlo De Tulio, KIAI Member), Czech Republic (Dejan Kostic and Radim Ballner, KIAI members), Germany (Peter Rosendahl KIAI member), etc... Seminar had three most important parts - a Budo Night with demonstrations of martial arts, a Seminar day with seminars in Jujutsu and Sport Kenjutsu, and finally, European Cup in Sport Kenjutsu and Sport Jujutsu.
The most successful on this Sport Kenjutsu cup was Milos Zec from Serbia, KIAI member, who won gold medal. Silver went to another KIAI member, Mr. Radim Ballner from Czech Republic. Bronze medals were taken by Jaroslav Hudak (Czech Republic) and Zdeslav Micurac (Croatia). The concurrence was excellent, with over 25 competitors in this category. In ladies category the gold went to Czech Republic, excellently presented by Miss. Jana Caletkova. Silver was won by KIAI member Karmen Santamaria, chanbara black belt from Italy. Third place went to Karla Michankova from Czech Republic.
Next European Budo Games will be held in Germany. Before that, European Budo Council and Serbian budo Council will organize an international event in Serbia, in February 2008.
