  Palomar Knot
This Knot is equivalent to the Improved Clinch for terminal tackle connections, easier to tie. Used among many Pro's 1. Double about four inches of line and pass loop through eye. plm1.bmp (16174 bytes)
2. Let Hook hang loose and tie an over hand knot in double line. Avoid twisting the lines, and Don't Tighten. plm2.bmp (17210 bytes) 3. Pull loop of line far enough to pass it over the hook, swivel, or lure. Make sure the loop passes completely over this attachment.

  Jansik Special
This terminal connection is popular with Muskie Anglers. 1.Run about five inches of line through eye of hook or lure; bring it around in a circle and run it through again. jans1.bmp (152758 bytes)
2. Make a second circle parallel to the first, and pass the end of the line through eye a third time jans2.bmp (138718 bytes) 3. Bend standing part of line (see arrow) around the two circles. Bring tag end around in a third circle and wrap it three times around the three parallel lines
jans3.bmp (167894 bytes) 4. Holding hook, swivel, or lure with pliers, hold the standing line (see arrow) with your other hand, and hold tag end in your teeth. Pull all three to tighten. jans4.bmp (257846 bytes)

 

  Improved Clinch Knot  
This is a good Knot for making terminal tackle connections. Pro anglers prefer it for lines up to 20 pound - test. 1. Pass line through  the eye of hook, swivel, or lure. Double back and make five turns  around standing line. ick1.bmp (183270 bytes)
2. Holding the coils in place, thread end of line  around first loop above eye, then through the big loop ick2.bmp (168070 bytes) 3. Hold tag end and standing line while pulling up coils. Make sure the coils are in a spiral , not lapping over each other. Slide tight against eye.      4. Clip tag end
