  • Vegetation

 Bass Spring  Patterns

Spring Bass'in in  pre-spawn, bass will start to stage around secondary points in deeper water. On a over cast day they stay suspended. In pre-spawn a slow retrieve is always best with a deep diving plug. On a sunny day In the morning use a slow retrieve fish deep. Then as the day warms up the bass will start to move closer in to the banks. At this time, you can speed up the retrieve a little and use a medium depth plug. When spawning starts the bass will move in to the banks usually around a sandy gravel area in a cove that is quiet.

  Bass Summer Patterns

Summer bass'in can be one of the best times, for any angler. Bass will suspend around timber or brush piles, docks or any structure waiting for food to ambush. They will also follow bait fish, shad or blue gill. one thing to remember with summer bass'in is in the heat of the day they will usually suspend, in the morning or early evening they are more active moving around points and shore lines

  Bass Fall Patterns

Fall Bass'in is one of the most unpredictable times although a lot of bass are caught. Bass will feed to stock up for the winter. The changing weather fronts usually dictates when a fall bass will bite. The best luck for most anglers is on overcast windy days. The wind will blow the bait fish in to the coves or on to the points. So for most anglers on overcast windy days the best structure to fish is rocky points or in shallow coves around brush piles or docks. On sunny fall days if the bass are biting try around the brush piles.

  Bass Tips - General
  • One of the best tips for bass fishing is always talk with the local anglers or the local bait & tackle shop, to find out what bait & color they are hitting on.
  • Pay close attention to what the bass are eating in the area. If they are bust' in a school of shad or going after blue gill  try to imitate the bait with a shad or a blue gill color lure. Pull up a rock and see what color the craw fish are. Bass Anglers will go to any length.
