Everyone wants to build one of those fantastic looking web pages, complete with graphics and all the bells and whistles, but you have to learn to walk before you can run. That is what these pages are for; to help you learn the basics of Internet Web Page building

Before we begin, I am going to assume you are running some sort of Windows operating system on your computer, since over 85% of computers today use Windows. If you don't have Windows installed on your computer, DON'T PANIC! The basics are the same for all operating systems, but some of the terminology varies.

The first thing to do is open up an HTML Edtor. I prefer Notepad or TextPad, but any editor will suffice. If you don't know how to open up Notepad, follow the instructions HERE!

Once you have your HTML Editor open, you are ready to start building a web page.

Every web page begins with a standard set of orders that tell browsers what to do. These orders are contained inside "less than" and "greater than" tags; <>. Everything inside these tags are read by the browser only, and never shows up on the page itself for a visitor to see.
