The Father looked into his eyes, His child was
in so much pain,
He thought back to the days of old and the way
things used to be,
Happy and free was his his childhood, spreading
such cheer and glee.
He always had a kind word, Oh, to have him climb
up on his knee.
The Father looked into his eyes and remembered
the days back then.
When all was well and life was good, a model son
he'd been.
He'd warned him about the fast life, that car
was way too fast
His son took it for a spin today, it was soon
to be his last.
The Father looked into his eyes and a tear ran
down his cheeks,
His son was in and out of sleep, he was barely
able to speak
The Father asked him one last time for this is
why he was sent.
And His face lit up when His child looked up and
said, "Father, I repent"
