Here I am, judging music from a movie that came out when I was 5. I guess it's not too strange, I mean my favorite movie came out the year I was born.

Throughout the music, there are six themes heard: Mrs. Brisby's theme, Jeremy's theme, The Rats' theme, Dragon's theme, Nicodemus' theme, and The Stone theme. Mrs. Brisby's theme is the same as the as tune of Flying Dreams. Jeremy's is about as odd and stupid as he is, Dragon's is loud and ominous, Nicodemus' is calm and mystical, The rats' is brassy and noble-sounding, and the stone's theme is almost like Mrs. Brisby's theme.

The soundtrack is really a great collection of music, worthy of listening to all by itself. It doesn't need a movie accompaniment to be good, like some music I can think of (Star Wars: Episode 1, the music was rather disappointing). I listen to it regularly because it is such a great work, and because I can forgive some recording blunders and Paul Williams' singing voice. So if you have a chance to buy it, I recommend it, if you like this kind of music. If you're looking for the type of soundtrack of, say, The Matrix, and not pretty flute music, this is not for you. I feel this more accurately grasps my opinion of the music than my last commentary, as I'm sure most of you remember.
