Two security guards
finish off their shift at the Tate gallery in london.
One last look around before
they go... One guard thinks he sees something, but when he looks back convinces himself it
is a trick of the light. The guards leave, exhausted by the late shift.

The Assassin fades into view in the gallery, he has made it. He converses with
Michael as he leaves the building...
... and steps out into the darkness of the london streets, a full moon illuminating the
sleeping city. The Assassin is back at work.

Joseph Kreutz enters his office building dressed in an immaculate cream linen
suit.
Although the man's surroundings and clothing are that of a
businessman, and a successful businessman at that, his bearing is that of a predator, a
man of action.
Kreutz
enters his place to find a telephone ringing on his desk.
This is no ordinary phonecall, this is part of Kreutz' real
business. The voice on the other end of the phone tells him of what could be
euphemistically referred to as 'a security breach'. As he discusses the best course of
action, Kreutz withdraws a
gun from its holster within his linen suit.

Kreutz advises the unseen figure on what should be done. A squad is to be
dispatched in order to deal with the problem faced by the voice at the other end of the
phone. As we look around te room we see other hints that Kreutz may have dealt with this
kind of problem before.
Weaponry, both identifiable and unidentifiable, rests in a
glass-fronted cabinet behind Kreutz. The call over, he messages his secretary, telling her
that he will be absent for the next couple of days, taking care of business.
As
Kreutz pushes the button on his intercom, a finger rings the doorbell of a bed and
breakfast. The Assassin negotiates through a half-closed door to obtain a room.
Unbeknownst to him, he is being watched as he
enters the building. Even at this early stage, Kreutz' 'security problem' is being sorted out.

The Assassin, once
inside the room at the
rundown bed and breakfast communicates with Michael. Michael is not too sold on the
decorations of the room, but then the Assassin begins to set up what he refers to as a
'relaypoint'.
After
speaking in an unintelligible serpentine tongue for a few seconds, the Assassin has
managed to combine the rented room with his headquarters, and sits there with Michael.
The Assassin gets to work, placing his hands to a scanner that
will boost his natural abilities as a tracer, enabling him to locate the node if it is
there. His astral form scans the lines of power which web the city of London, lines
much stronger than he had predicted, and follows the lines to their source, deep within
the city.
Something is wrong.
The Assassin senses it at once, but what is wrong is not
immediately clear to him. Then he looks up. Before him radiates a gem of a power he had
not previously imagined, a
gem that is dragging him closer by the second...

The power of the gem drawing him in, the Assassin sends out an SOS.
Just as all seems too late, he feels the rescue
attempt being made. The world goes black. Gradually he becomes aware of someone shouting
his name, a panicked Michael fills his point of view.
Michael drags the weakened
Assassin
to a seat, where the Assassin tells him what has
happened. They are facing a gem, not a node. Michael is shocked, but the Assassin is more
determined than ever to get out there and do his job, this is what he was made for.

The Assassin
arms himself, preparing to move out into the city to get a better fix
on the location of the gem. Michael warns him that this could be highly dangerous. The Assassin leaves
the bed and breakfast where he and Michael have established their base, moved off down an
alleyway and seems to disappear. He is however still visible through the night-sight of
the men following him. The order is given for them to proceed towards their target.
In a dark alleyway, the Assassin drops his guard for a moment, in order to see the lines
of force running around the city, and to pinpoint the location of the gem. After a few
moments of searching,
he has it. His joy is however short lived. The
moment the gem is pinpointed, a commanding voice speaks behind him and a gun points at his
back. He has been captured...
