Sesotho Story
Sesotho is one of the major langauges of southern Africa. Sesotho proper refers to Southern Sesotho, spoken by about 1 1/2 million people in Lesotho and another 1 1/2 million people in the surrounding areas of South Africa. Northern Sesotho is referred to as Tswana or Setswana, spoken in Botswana, and is close enough to Sesotho to be considered merely dialects. Sesotho is pronounced se-soo-too.
