Management of the Montfort Boys' Town

Br. Director is the central person of the day to day running of Boys’ Town. He is responsible for the appointment of the suitable staff, intake of students, and interacts with the Government Departments and also with all the others who help to sustain the daily life of Boys’ Town. He consults he co-Brothers and effects necessary changes in training program, or introduces new projects. Once every month he organises the staff meeting and evaluates the progress of the School in all the aspects. In short, Br. Director is very much responsible for the physical, spiritual growth and financial well-being of the Boys’ Town.

Br. Assistant Director mainly helps the Director to check and maintain the financial strength of Boys’ Town. He deals with all the normal financial business transactions, like purchase of training material, salary of staff, payment of pending bills to the business firms etc. He also interacts with other Brothers with regards to their financial need in their respective departments.

Br. Homesuperintendant (HS) is mainly responsible for the Character formation of all the boys under training at Boys Town. He interacts with the other Brothers, staff, student leaders of Boys’ Town, and the parents of the boys, with regard to the entire Program at their disposal. He designs those program, separate for each of the three Terms of the year, towards the development of the personalities of the boys under training. He evaluates the growth of the trainees and recommends them to the Director for their rewards and punitive measures for the erring ones.

Organisational Chart Br. Ass. Homesuperintendant works hand in hand with the HS. He co-ordinates the student leaders (House Leaders) and helps them to implement their Term Activities. He also reports to the HS the progress or may be even some of the deficiencies in the Term Activities. He also suggests students who are very irresponsible with themselves or others to the HS or the Director for disciplinary measures. He also takes care of the boys when they are in need of some first aid in cases of minor injuries during sports or gardening etc.

The Staff are both teaching and non-teaching members of Boys’ Town. Usually, they do not board at Boys’ Town like the Brothers, except for the Sisters who take care of the catering of the students. The teaching staffs are responsible for the daily preparation of their respective classes and imparting vocational skill to their trainees. They report the skill progress of their trainees to the HS. They also refer trainees who require more counselling than what they can afford, either to the Ass. HS or to the HS or to the Director. They also help the House Leaders with valuable suggestions and ideas to improve or increase their performance level in various competitions held in the School.

The non-teaching staffs are the Office staff, Store officers, Farm Manager, kitchen staff, the driver of the school bus, and the security staff of the school. As they serve the school in their own capacities, they also do help the students as much as they can to make the students feel comfortable in their daily activities.

Student Leaders are the elected representatives of the students. The students are divided into four Houses and they elect their own leaders. One of those four leaders is appointed by the HS and approved by the Director as the Mayor of Boys’ Town. He has an office in the Boys’ Dormitory where the Public Address system and other common things are installed. He takes charge of that equipment and also publishes all the various information for the boys from that office. Every boy is assigned with a certain duty or duties by his House leader to be executed daily. The leaders make sure that all the boys are responsible with regard to their specific duties and, they report to the Ass. HS or to the HS failures. The leaders organise their own House meetings in order to plan and prepare for the various competitions among the Houses. They seek the assistance of the Ass. HS or the HS or their own House Teachers when they are in doubt or face difficulties.
