Geneva, Switzerland, Monday 7th October, 1996
Paul Boddie today announced the creation and availability of his home page on the World Wide Web, to industry acclaim and widespread celebration. The move brings about a widespread continuation in Paul's personal policy towards the availability of information on the Internet, and marks no change whatsoever to his work, or forthcoming products.
However, industry analyst and regular Byte contributor Buzz N. Thusiastic claims that the site heralds a new era in electronic publishing. "This is an amazing development," he claimed, "and I have to say that Paul is now in a win-win situation with regard to industry compliance, intranet integration, and Java application speculation. This will change not only his lifestyle, but the lifestyle of all major industry players."
However, cynics stated that although the introduction from the fourth quarter of a World Wide Web presence for Mr Boddie was an achievement, they played down Mr Thusiastic's interpretation of events. One said, "He's a Byte contributor and and industry analyst, so can you really believe what the guy says?"
Paul Boddie is not a corporation based in California, and is not listed on the New York stock exchange under the code PAUL. He does not produce intranet solutions for corporate clients, and is not a major Java software publisher.
