Martha Smith Appears on VH1

On Friday, July 9, 1999, some of you may have caught an episode of VH1's tv series Where Are They Now? featuring movies from the 70's and 80's. This episode featured both the musicians behind the soundtracks of these movies, and the actors themselves. I was quite pleasantly surprised when they did a segment on National Lampoon's Animal House, in which actress Martha Smith -- better known as Francine Desmond on Scarecrow and Mrs. King -- played Southern belle Babs Jensen.

The segment did an update and an interview with all the principal cast members of that movie, including with Ms. Smith herself, and from watching it, I learned some very interesting things that I did not even know when I talked to Ms. Smith on the phone for an interview a while back! For instance, it seems that Ms. Smith created a boardgame based on Monopoly, and it's based in Beverly Hills. Also, Ms. Smith has recently formed a musical group, which has been singing in night clubs. All of this in addition to her career in real estate, and her modeling and screenwriting careers, to boot!

Kudos to you, Martha Smith! You're a great and talented lady, and I wish you the best of luck in all your endeavors!
